A week in the woods of Hopewell NJ, USA
March 2020 when the world turned I decided to paint outside in the woods of my studio for one week. An event, a creative dialogue with paint, a cotton cloth and my tools, away from 'daily society'. Working outside in the natural environment liberates and fills me with excitement, energy and movement. Although spontaneity is certainly present, always within the parameters of my process. The 80 ft. cotton cloth, with my accumulated experiences and memories, is now folded up like a small transportable 'container' in my studio. In about 6 to 8 months I will have the opportunity to unfold the cotton cloth and finish the paintings as planned. My outdoor project of one week in the Hopewell woods can then be completed.
I can hardly wait...
